I am thankful for "not so fat" moments. Yesterday I painted on a smile while inwardly feeling frumpy and fat. While the kids were sleeping I began getting ready because we were suppose to eat supper with my in-laws. I did the pull things out of the closet, look at it on the hanger, frown and frump and put it back mentally thinking I'll look too fat or it might not fit. All the while the entire half a coconut cream pie in the fridge is beckoning. I came across a pair of cargo capri pants that I KNOW did not fit last summer. I thought "OK, I'll try to put them on and when they look terrible and won't button I'll get over the pie!" I put them on, zipped, buttoned, and did a quiet little happy jig because they were actually a little baggy! Supper with the in-laws was great! And later that evening I let myself have a small piece of pie. Of course I walked extra today for it... soooo still worth it!
I am thankful for VBS. Had it not been for VBS at church ,and of course Sunday school, I wouldn't have known this little song to sing. My daughter wouldn't have already known the words to sing along either had it not been for VBS and Sunday school. We found a fuzzy caterpillar climbing up one of our trees. He or she was actually very cute, black, fuzzy and what you can't really see in the picture are the little orange stripes that were in between the fuzzes.

Fuzzy Caterpillar climbing up a tree
He wiggles long, he wiggles short, he wiggles right at me
Put him in a box,
Don't go away! I said
But when I opened up the box,
A butterfly instead
I could never make one even if I tried
Only God in heaven can make a butterfly.
I'm thankful for inquisitive little minds.
I'm thankful our trip is only 6 days away!
Have a great weekend everyone!
I love that song...and oddly enough...I learned it at VBS at Mars Hill. They don't sing that song in TN I guess lol...congrats on fitting in the pants...It's always nice to feel like your hard work avoiding sugar and fat are paying off! And...I'll share with you my thankful bit...I am thankful for my best friend's mom. She has AMAZING handwriting...and she wrote the addresses on ALL of my invitations!
