I am thankful for great friends because:
- They way you meet is sometimes a mass of random events that at the time seem to have no connection at all. Until years later you reflect and think " That mess of events led me to some great people!" There's a song by Rascal Flatts pointing out the fact that true love often takes this "Broken Road", the best friendships seem to also.
- Who else is going to listen to me ramble and rant when I'm angry, sad, frustrated or just plain silly!
- They get my humor and appreciate it!!!!! In case this has escaped your notice... I'm a little sarcastic... This can be received any number of ways. My true friends know I'm joking, know I love them just the way they are, wouldn't change them for the world, and that I'll make fun of myself too if you're listening.
- Due to events in life that may not have been the happiest, I'm a "Don't Like you til I know you" person. So if you've been patient enough, or especially stubborn enough to be around after that, I'll like you just for being just as or more stubborn than me.
- They welcome my nutty, stupid, eccentric imperfections.
- They know exactly what kind of cake to get me :)
- It's good to be needed outside "the home".
- "Don't hit your sister" "Time to clean up" "Story time!" "Stop picking your nose" " Honey can you take the trash out" " We need to cut your hair TONIGHT?" yep.... it's just good to listen to something other that the everyday. When I don't get to talk to my best friend daily it makes it just extra special.
Aww, you know we love you too. You've been my friend for a long time and I'm glad our hubbies are friends now too!
