Manic Monday... on a tuesday??

Since we've been laid up sick the week is off to a slow start, making this feel like Monday. I call it manic because of one particular moment in the day. I had been in the room doing ring around the rosie until I though I was going to be sick, and then we moved on to playing in the kitchen. E and Princess decided it was their pretend birthdays. So they proceeded to pretend to bake a cake. I needed to make a phone call so I snuck away. In the possibly 15 seconds I was out of the room, they began to wrestle. Now this is something I don't let them do because it can get out of hand. And it did. Also to put the cherry on top, I was out of the room AND E and K's mom stopped by to bring the pull ups E needed. I hadn't even gotten to make the call because as soon as I got into the next room I heard a thud ,which I suppose was them beginning this match, and was just rounding the corner after hearing them tumble around, only to find their mom peeking in the window to see her son tackled and slapped by my daughter. Can you say MORTIFIED?? My girl isn't typically aggressive like that, so I have no idea what brought that on. I refuse to raise a brat, so gasp if you want, but she gets spanked. And she got one for smacking and leaving a scratch on E. How is it that the rest of the day has been problem free, great day, I was so glad they were being so good while me and my kiddos still don't feel well, and then Princess goes in for an attack as soon as I leave the room??? What goes through their heads at a time like that?
Well on a lighter note: You should have seen the Princess this morning. We ate breakfast in our jammies and she decided when she got done she would get herself dressed. This isn't uncommon, but what she came back wearing was certainly UNCOMMON!
