TGOF: Thank God On Friday

It's that time of week again! This week has been so... well so many things. Here's the list folks:

  1. I am thankful I got to say goodbye to Granny and tell her I love you one last time.
  2. I am thankful she was such an amazing Christian that prepared herself to meet God and in her own way prepared us for her passing.
  3. I am thankful that my friends and family have shown such great support this week. They brought out so much food this week that I literally have not cooked all week, and brought so much in supplies like paper towels and plates that we've hardly had to wash a dish. When your head is so in your heart at a time like this it makes it go so much more smoothly when you don't have to think about little daily details, like cooking supper or making a run to the store for T.P. and plates.
  4. I am thankful that one of the things brought to me for a birthday/condolences gift were peanut butter brownies! Thanks Nic!
  5. I am thankful that tonight for my birthday date night my Big Daddy wants to take me out to eat and to the Faulkner Co. fair. FYI that's where we had our first date. He took me to eat at a restaurant that sadly closed a few years ago and then to the fair.
  6. I am thankful for the fair! So many happy memories about the fair. I won a first place ribbon for some of my art there. I LOVE FAIR FOOD! Fry it, sugar coat it or put it on a stick, yes! And of course my first date with what turned out to be the love of my LIFETIME.
  7. I am thankful for RAZORBACK FOOTBALL! My dad and I are making the trip up to UofA tomorrow to (hopefully) watch the Hogs bet some Bama tail! Whoooo Pig Sooie! Go Hogs!
  8. On that note, I am thankful for football! Well college ball at least, I've never been a big NFL follower.
  9. I am thankful to get laughter out of life from my kids. The Princess actually corrected Big Daddy the other night and it was great! He has this little habit of talking during a program or if we watch a movie at home. Especially if he knows anything about what you're watching. I try to dodge the living room sometimes when the History Channel plays military history programs. You don't get to watch the actual show you get to here all the facts Big Daddy's has on the subject. HA HA, he's a trip ya'll. I do occasionally sit through the program just because I'm so amazed at what he DOES KNOW. I have digressed to say; While watching a Learning Leapfrog movie about making words Big Daddy begins his own little quiz. "What does that say?", no answer. "What's that one?", no answer. A little louder this time,"Princess, do you know what that word is?" .  She cocks her head to the side and looks at him "Daddy, no talking during the movie! I'm trying to watch!" People I don't know where she gets that 'tude! Well okay maybe I do... teee hee!
  10. I am thankful for the rain we've gotten in the last hour. I do hope it stops soon so we can still go to the fair. :)
Ya'll have a great weekend! If you're making it out to the fair, have fun, travel safe! If it's not time for your local fair when it does roll around make a trip out to it! It's a great date night, a great trip for the kids, and shows support for your community! So put on some boots, make sure to go with an empty belly, leave the diet at home for the night, plug your nose before entering the stalls and have a great time!

  1. I, too, am thankful that I got to say bye to Granny before I went to Knoxville. I may not have gotten to talk to her right at the end, but I know she knew I loved her. And, I am thankful, that in spite of the sad circumstances, I got to see family and spend time with everyone.
