HOSEMAN

Well, today it's official. Today is Big Daddy's first duty day after his "one year anniversary" with the fire department. He's been done with testing for a little while now, but today the chief will make it official. HE IS A HOSEMAN! No longer "the rookie".
After one whole year of tests and training, not to mention the testing, interviews and physical tests just to get hired - it's done. He still has EMT school check off the list and that starts next week so keep his brain power in your prayers. I know he'll do great! He's extremely intelligent, my only concern is his confidence in himself.
This past year has been a whirlwind of change in our household, not just with the department. I've mentioned this before and I'm preach'n it again: There is no firefighter with a family, there's a firefighting family. It's a lifestyle change and it's one we are still adjusting to in some ways.
I am very thankful also for the station house my husband has been blessed with, yes blessed. They have been helpful, supportive, and outstanding in a way I guess only that "brotherhood" can provide inside a good station, a good shift. So if any of you guys are reading this, this is my thank you note to you. I've not had the opportunity to be around all of you too much, but I can see the difference in my husband. I know that a good portion of that is the group of men he's with every third day. Thank you and God bless.
