So I'm getting dressed to go out with a friend of mine later tonight. My Princess asks "Why are you getting pretty? Where are we going?" I explain to her that Mommy is going to fix supper and Daddy will take it from there. He'll eat with you and make sure you take a good shower. Mommy is going to go out with Mrs.... We'll call her Blanche on here bc remember I don't do real names. "Well Mommy", the Princess says, "what are you going to do?" "We're going to go out to eat and shopping". "Are you going to play with her toys at her house?" I laugh, "Maybe we will play with toys" (Hey, me and my friends... ya never know I've played on the toy isle with out kids before)
Then the bomb, "But Mommy why do you need to do that?" *Sigh*, sometimes Mommy's just do.
I've made fun of men and their "bonding", haven't most ladies? Well let's face it some of their "bonding" is just weird. But, honestly... we need it too don't we? Female companions? Girlfriends, buddies, "Golden Girls". I think it's something this Mommy has been missing. I've done it to myself really. My husband is very helpful and willing to take the kids, I have lots of family around that will help with the kids when he is at work. In a pun on facebook, I've "unfriended" myself. But doesn't it feel selfish sometimes? I always feel selfish for it, maybe it's something I need to work on... guess I'll start tonight.
